Default Abunai's Future Challenge! (new event)

During this event you'll get to create your own version of Abunai for 2010. What will it look like? Where will it be? Who will come to your convention? Why do you think it will work? How will you pull it off? During this event you'll be able to decide!

Offcourse you won't have to do it all on your own, you'll be able to get help from all the visitors of Abunai and from the crews of several organisations in the Netherlands (Aniway, Abunai, etc). You'll get a full day to talk with visitors and ask them what they think Abunai needs. At the end of the day we'll all discuss the ideas together and maybe your idea will become real at Abunai 2010! To top it off the best idea will get a special prize from us!

Questions? Ask them here!

Yes. Question!

Why would you do this when youre own crew and gophers have plenty good ideas but get rejected time and again?

I see this event as a good chance to work together to create something new. I want to give everyone a chance for good input and good feedback on their ideas and I hope together we'll be able to think of something new and unpredicted.

I hope it is. My personal suggestion would be to listen to the people on the inside, because they have insights that most visitors dont have. I also have a lot more, but those are not mine to say.

Based on my education, I would agree on this wholeheartedly. Input of the people who get their hands dirty with us, help us make Abunai! happen, that information is worth a lot to us.

I welcome any comments on my sections, if you want to have a chat with me on the con, gopherdinner or wherever, I'll listen.

I'm looking forward to this event. It may usher a new age for Abunai! and help us to improve products and services for years to come.

I totally agree with you, people on the inside definitely have different insights compared to visitors. Their insights are very important.

I'm open for any feedback you might have, please PM or mail me about them or maybe we can talk during the convention and discuss this topic there.

Regarding the event I hope you're willing to participate and think about abunai in 2010!

One suggestion: For the love of God, let's get back to the Twente campus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The location will never get any better than that. Or organize two Abunai conventions or something, but we HAVE to get back there!!! (just don't allow 1300 people, that's just too crowded ^^).
My 3 cents.

Or another idea, start a survey among the visitors to check how many people would like to go back there

I think this will be a hot item, considering the topic on the forum.

My 3 cents.
Think about the other things that came with that location.

- Small supermarket that isn't open on sunday
- Small camping grounds with tiny bathrooms that became dirty VERY quickly.
- 1 or 2 hotels in the neighborhood
- Catering that gave a lot of complaints from the larger part of the congoers. (Not me!)
- Smaller congrounds means fewer people'll be able to attend the con, meaning less money for the staff to use for events, equipment and all that.
- Bad connection with the train.
And so on and so forth.

In Zwolle we've got supermarkets, restaurants, hotels, Bed & Breakfasts and more 'round the block, the convention building is FAR larger and has nice spacey rooms for events, workshops, the dealers and video presentations, the catering is good and the people are friendly, etcetera! Far more pro's when compared to the UT grounds, that's for sure!
