it's a choice to use it or not... but still you are bound to the 3 minute rules... so including intro & outro it should not be longer then 3 minutes

I think it's best to keep them short though, because it's not fun watching a long intro/outro (especially at the con itself)

PS:

javascript is client side and can't in any way upload files to a server. all you can do is have an HTML form post a file to a webserver which uses a server side script to catch the file and save it. HTTP isn't made for large files upload... that's what FTP is for. but do note that it's a very easy method to granting a larger group of people easy access for a single file upload. it has it's pro's and con's.

I was more asking it in just to forbid intro's and outro's... ^^;
Anyways, I'd really really rather upload through Ftp. My browser freezes every now and then as well you know?

And now back to finding an Amv to make... All I have now is an idea for a comedy with Gundam Wing..

I'll make both choices available.
This will be up as soon as I have set up the ftp server on my side.
The web-upload is not based by html, but by using java (which is very good for handling big files when uploading).

Anywayz, info should be up this weekend ^^

how can JAVA be any good, I wonder.

Also... web-based upload goes via a browser, whether that browser connects via ftp, of just plain http with the main server doesn't matter. It's still working with your browser. >_>

Power2all: The FTP has already been set up properly, and each registrant will have a personal FTP login which will be sent to them *after* they have signed up via events@stichtingabunai.nl.

Okidoki

(You could have informed me about this already -_-)

MKwia: Don't come with that. It's bs what your saying now. Probably or you never made websites, or you don't know how it works behind the back.
Did you ever looked further then repeating some elses info ?

Info:

If you expect to handle a large number of concurrent file transfers on your website consider using a perl or java server side component. PHP happens to be our favourite web programming language as well but perl and Java are just slightly ahead when it comes to file upload.
Now please look further then your nose please

-update-
Ofcourse you use your browser, but the uploading procedure doesn't go thru the browser, but thru a "external" application, like Java

He's right on the other point though, it stays uploading through your browser

So, do we have to sign up now, or when we finished our vid?

im also in for the contest.

okey after 3 months of work v1 is ready but the end is not in the same theme as the rest because for that i need the final 2 dvds. and that guy still needs to make a iso of it and put it on the ftp for me and that takes a while but i have still time for the contest
The title will be Bonds. the song si only 2:10 so no problems with the 3 minute rule for once

oh question: will mp4, h.264 aac also be allowed?

I would more like it to have a .AVI container instead of MP4 container
H.264 is alright, but if possible, use MP3 in 320 bitrate or lower, whatever you think is needed.
