Exclamation Forum Rules

The forum has been growing and growing, and we felt the need to introduce some rules to keep this place in an acceptable state ^_~

general:
- posts have to be made in English
- no spamming.
- do not slowchat, use our chat instead or use an instant messenger or private messages.
- do not multipost. If you want to post more replies following the one you just made use the edit function!
- no flaming. This means no verbal fighting over the board!!! If you have a problem with someone use email or PM but not the board!
- no pictures with explicit (violence, gore, pornographic, etc.) content (no hentai, ecchi to own discretion, moderators/staff make final decision).
- the staff and moderators have the right to lock, delete or change threads and posts at any given time.
- the administrators have the right to edit user profiles as they see fit. This means removing offensive pictures/comments or even delete the account.
- do not post pictures of people without their permission! That is violating someone's privacy and will not be tolerated! (like cosplay pics).
- in case of doubt: staff and moderators are always right.
- when quoting, only quote what's important (no quotes in quotes in quotes!)
- it is not allowed to post illegal/grey contents or links to illegal/grey contents like anime, movies, music etc (unless you own the copyright) (this includes any links to sites that link to illegal/grey content)
- when posting large images, use links and not the [img] tags

signatures:
- pictures aren't allowed to be larger than 500x120 pixels
- no more than 7 lines of text (without a banner)
- no more than 4 lines of text (with banner)
- the same rules as stated above (general) apply here
- so the maximum signature contains one 500x120 picture, and 4 lines of text

subfora:
News: ontopic
Introductions: free play, but mind the given rules
General Chat: when it is Abunai related (problems, requests, etc.): ontopic, otherwise it's free play, but mind the given rules
All other sections: ontopic

avatars:
- It is not allowed to hotlink to avatars hosted on this forum.
- Avatars may not be bigger then 150x150 pixels

People also use 'quote' many and many times and its irritating to read. Can we have a rule for that too please?

If you wouldn't allow quote, things might be harder to understand. If you read what the other is talking about, it's better to follow. And you can always scroll down...

I think Kyana means quote-in-quote-in-quote and so on. I know Invision Powerboard has an option to turn quotes in quotes off, but I don't know if phpbb has that. I will have a look at it and otherwise we might make a rule for it.

Erm.
Try to mod it ?
You can simply try look in www.phpbb.com in mods for a fix to add that option or code it yourself ^^

phpBB doesn't have the disable quote in quote thing, and if a user has somewhat of a IQ it shouldn't have to be disabled in the first place ...

If you quote, only quote what it has relevance too, and just delete the rest of the quoted text.

It's really not that hard to do ...

You can always delete quotes which are in quotes to keep it at a minimum, I do that most of the time, or you can just copy paste the sentence you want to quote and use the quote function in the reply itself instead of via the post.

Requesting new rule;

It's not allowed to make posts which are not in line with the rules of a specific thread.

And I'm saying this while pointing at the "Gameroom request and rules (the real topic)". This rule might seem somewhat unneeded, but I guess it's not because some of you (who even replied in this thread, even) don't obey topic-rules.
