It would certainly be nice to get some danceable stuff like other people said. I kinda hate J-Core - it goes way too fast and gives me an headache.

So... I guess more J-RnB/J-Rap (even if it's something like Teriyaki Boyz) would be cool and J-Dance (or whatever term that is used for non-Eurobeat stuff) which is way slower than J-Core wouls be nice too. Maybe you should check out the Beatmania soundtracks for some varied Japanese electronic music that's quite danceable.

I wonder what happens if you would play DDR-songs? o_O

But it can still be recognised as anime music/jmusic.

Its a jdisco, kurosaki, therefore... No mainstream allowed!

Yay Queen / Golden Earring, but sadly neither are Japanese. =/

To be honest, I only fairly recently started endulging myself with anime, often download some subtititled series and have a good time. I'm not yet so familiar with japanese popmusic. I'm sure there's a lot of variety. But a friend let me hear some a while ago and I did not like it that much. I think it had much to do with the fact that musicians are trying out certain genres the japanese language does not flow well with and english may be much more appropriate. I am very sensitive to that. Also, when I hear foreign songs translated into dutch, I get the shivers. I loathe productions like some musicals based on original english music like mama mia and the wizz. Not every style is suitable for any language. But most of all, be original, don't translate. A good song is perfect as it is as text and melody are in perfect harmony.
I am looking forward to the disco and discover what this culture has to offer. But I hope I won't hear too much of japanese versions of Frans Bauer and such Unless we start the polonayse?
