Default Help on Manga drawing!

I don't know if I'm putting this in the appropriate section, but I'm in need of some help fast!
started manga drawing a lil week ago and in my experience everything i copy-draw from a picture turns out great, but my hand drawn stuff is...crap, to put it lightly (a 5 year old could beat me)
Therefore I was wondering if you guys know some instruction books/tutorials so I can get started on my manga drawings!

This is my best work so far!

Try and find manga drawing books from Christopher Hart. Those are really great!
Also, do you have a DeviantArt account? It might help you in a way that people can
comment on your art and give advise if you want.

dear Figepootje...you really need to get some more confidence about your drawing cause i like to draw as well but it'll take ages for me to create what you just posted.

you apparently have the skills to draw this kind of thing, just get some more confidence that your work isn't crap at all

Yeah, but I would have to remind you that I copied this by hand from an existing picture and just added the wings...leave the wings out and I would have simply copied the picture...
I myself don't think that that's 'good drawing' in any way, because it's simply copying someone else's art.
Anyways, I still appreciate the compliment though :P

But copying someone else's art is the way to start. You need to practice a lot and copying is a way to do that. So just keep doing that and eventually you will make the poses your own. Other then that you have the books how to draw manga. You have various books in that series that all focus on different aspects. I have a few of those books but I don't have time to practice

a good idea is to look at what for material you use to draw. a pencil is a good begin. I personally like a somewhat softer pencil (a 4B) for sketching. the best beginning is always sketching. and do not be afraid to use guidelines in your own picture. you can always erase those later.

I appreciate the comments! Arigato!

Thing is that I do have some time to practice, since my schedule for school left me with 2 giant holes, 1 hole leaving me with 2, the other with 3 hours with nothing to do and no way of getting home in time or something :P
So yeah, think I'm gonna start buying some books and checking my mats.
Thanks again! ^^
See if i can put my newest drawing up here 2morrow
