Default About respect and understanding

I'm going to write this post because I hear and see a lot of complaints from visitors about certain subjects, like not reacting fast enough to questions and about other stuff.

What I am going to say, has been said before but I wanted to point it out once more in a separate post.

All the staffmembers at Abunai are volunteers, this means that we organize Abunai in our spare time next to our jobs and studies. Therefore it could be that we arent available directly for questions or solve problems at the spot. Next to our day job we also have a social life (yeah really) and other obligations like anyone else. But we are doing the best we can to make Abunai as fun and good as possible. Therefore meetings between staffmembers are sometimes necessary to make the best choices or offer the best solutions and yes those things take time.

Yes, we make mistakes, we are only human after all. And when we do, we do try to fix them in the best way we can. Sometimes they cant be fixed due to circumstances out of our control and we understand that is inconvenient for you as visitors. However I want you all to know that we guarantee we have searched for possible solutions in any way possible but sometimes all our efforts just arent enough and we cant fix everything.

We as staff like organizing Abunai to give you, as visitors, a great time. We spend many hours a week making Abunai possible. All we ask in return is respect and understanding from you all for what we do.

Abunai is only a few days away, lets make sure we all have a great time, visitors, gophers and staff alike!

Once more, I'd like to thank all the staff for their work. Good luck for the weekend. Although some things might not be to everyone's satisfaction, I'm sure everyone here is grateful for your efforts!

We as abunai visitors can go and be nitpicks over every little thing that goes wrong but personally I prefer to just enjoy abunai to the fullest while it lasts! people are doing the best they can so stop complaining about every little detail already...

Thanks for understanding and respecting that there are trans people and asking for their identification.

I will not be going to the con this year.

The Identification progress is something we already asked of your visitors, but it will be managed more efficiently this year.
Besides the dutch law that states that you need to identify yourself at all times, we at Abunai ask for identification to make sure no one commits fraud, and to guarantee that the safety of the visitor is guaranteed.
As a transgender myself I know the process is long and tiring, and changing your Identification costs time and money, something we do not all have.
However, our staff is familiar with the concept and will accept your ID as long as your last name is the same on the ticket.
As a precaution we advise you to send an email to info@abunaicon.nl, stating your worries, so that we can make sure the check in progress will go smoothly, just like any other visitor.
