Best option would be using either DivX5+ or H264 codec.
Thanks for the help and tips!!

Your welcome ^^.
TeamViewer and helping setting the encode settings is handy for you, now you know next time how to professionally encode your videos

As Charming Ice knows now, the best way to encode, is using Lagarith in After Effects or your editting app as export (lossless), and after this using MeGUI to encode your video in a final version like H264 MP4 or something close to this.
Direct compressing from a application could give errors: frame freezes here and there cause of sync, VfW (Video for Windows) is mostly a bad idea to encode with, and some other stuff which needs more explaning.

(offtopic: Thanks, I didn't know that.)

I'm chatting with Power2All about the compo and asked him about how the AMV's will be rated but he says that you know more about that stuff. So here's my question...

In what kind of categories will the AMV be rated and how many points can the AMV score in every category?

I'm curious, that's all.

We haven't finalized the judging method for this year yet.

Also, I'm not sure if we'll make the judging method public, especially ahead of time.

XVID is for my opinion the best lightest codec for my opinion maybe Jasper or other ones have different taste of codec using.

Timmeh!!

Jasper told me that people should never use XviD for HD 720p videos but use DivX instead. So after 9hours of wasted time I'm going to waste another 2-3hours to render my video in the DivX format because lossless doesn't work for me.

To all editors here:
What kind of editing program do you use?

I'm curious and I want this to be a Hot Topic!!

I use Sony Vegas Pro 8.0
(Still think it's better than 9, more 3rd party plug-ins )

I always render to huffyuv, then render to HD Divx (aka normal Divx, but my converter likes to brag)

Well, I think I'll start this week with my amv, music choice is almost figured out...
Let's get going.
(My luck: 31 July I'm going on holiday, so I love the deadline (A))

Dutch!!

I was wondering where you were... hahaha.

I've been working on my amv since Tsunacon (niet 24/7 hoor xD) and finished it a few weeks ago. But I want to score high on the technical part. Yet, even with a lot of help from Power the file didn't work and stuff...

I'm using Sony Vegas Pro 9
This will be the first time I compete in a amv contest.
